Water

My dream was watery.

First I was at a hotel trying to take a shower in a common shower room and it was so crowded I gave up.

Then I went to the hotel desk and asked for the key to my room. They didn't even ask my name! Just handed it over and I went upstairs.

As I walked down the corridor I came upon a little stand selling tea and bagels and I really wanted some but they looked too plastic. So I walked on and saw more and more little stands but they were full of junk food and ice cream. Finally I found a stand selling popcorn and I thought i could buy some to take back to the room for dennis.

The pop corn guy listened to my request and immediately started a patter to up sell me. He kept showing me different shaped containers and saying for only a few dollars more my popcorn could come in one of these. When I pointed out that the containers looked different but all held the same amount of popcorn he went into an elaborate display of pop corn pouring from one container to the other to demonstrate, falsely, that they were bigger.

I lost interest and started to gather up my things to go. But they were everywhere. I would pickup something put it in my purse then see that I had left something else on the counter so I'd pick that up too. finally I had everything and the popcorn and my arms were so full.

I walked out and around the building trying to find my room. It was gorgeous outside. Huge Blue and White mountains and water everywhere. In fact I was trying to go somewhere and the path led down into a big flat body of water. It looked like if you kept right on the path you could make your way through so I went.

The people ahead of me made it but the woman just ahead of me step off the path and whoosh she was swept away in what had now become dark turbulent water. I tried, feebly to rescue her, but I was swept off my feet too and all my things were swept out of my hands.

I had to swim for it and was so grateful I'd had the practice. I'll say this for the water, it wasn't cold. Thank god. I was caught in a crowd of people trying to make their way out of the water by grabbing onto things and finally I was able to drag myself out to the ground. I was so tired and wet and dripping. But safe.
